I'm pretty sure the Frogster is planning on using all the old heroes, as well as adding more. :O

yea but we cant be sure can we  :D. I'm pretty sure many OP/UP  heroes will be nerfed / changed / merged (?) / buffed as well as a few additions and ommisions. I doubt there will be all 100+ (lost exact count) available at first beta / release.

I'm guessing the major up of having IceFrog onboard is to be able to get all the DotA heroes, including those that will come out in the future. After all, they did make quite an effort to stop HoN from getting them. Heroes like Lina and Riki will obviously be ported. I want the less outstanding heroes too! Nerubian Weaver? Ezalor or whoever (Illusory Orb dude)? I miss them in HoN :[

It'd be a crime if valve didn't port all the heroes. I'm ok with an incomplete list at beta/release, but I hope they get all the heroes eventually as long as "eventually" is reasonable.

I'm guessing once DOTA2 catches up to DotA, all additions to DotA will have a corresponding concurrent release in DOTA2 (unless IceFrog passes the sheepstick to someone else).

In the latest interview they said they would port most of the heroes ... I hope they would port all of them, cause imo DotA 2 shud be DotA + more :/

As for the illusory orb dude(Puck), he is there in HoN :D ... Bubbles ^_^

My bad, not illusory orb. The guy who looks like a see through shiny ghost. He has a 1st power which is an orb of some sort which you can charge for up to 8 seconds at level 4, doing 100 damage per second channeled. Great for pwning careless people. I doubt he's good for much more than support in proper games, but he's fun for pub pwnage.

And AFAICT, puck is Nymphora? I thought bubbles was all-new?

Keeper of the light / Ezalor :) Great to lane with a Krobules. Imba pushing power with both Krobules' and KOTL's wave. Not forgetting Ezalor's mana regen skill ^^

Yunero is kinda ok for me. I actually prefer the DotA one (Orc blademaster) to the HoN one (some kind of samurai?). They have to keep him small because the emphasis is on agi, not str.

I think overall, the Dota people (or whomever maybe behind the works) are just better at creating heroes and remember, they used most of the characters from WC3 that were already there. I'm an avid HONer or whatever you may call it, the new heroes just seem so ehh, i don't know how to describe it but it's the same thing over and over again. I don't know who makes the heroes for Dota but ancient apparition was a new hero entirely that i enjoyed. I miss Naix, :( and now i only have dampeer. Sad.  :'(

well the dota heroes were created by Blizzard entertainment.... all the heroes, creeps, neuts, item icons, skill icons are from warcraft3 and the frozen throne!!!.... they just used the wc3 mapeditor and created dota with all ht wc3 terrain, characters, doodads.

valve cant use these models cos they r ip of Bliz Entertainment..... valve can use the hero names and item names and cos he came up with those along with the other modders....

which is y u can c bloodseeker on the left hand side of this forum looks diff from dota.... but they still use the name bloodseeker... same with lina on the right hand side :)

You're missing Tinker, Windrunner, Void, Warlock and Viper from that list. At least I cannot see them on it, and they are referenced in the leaked changelogs.
