Dota 2 New Hero Picker

My personal thoughts:
I can tell you right now I will only be using the grid view, there is nothing in the world that would make me want to sit there and scroll through that "trading card" style of pick screen and I don't see any reason why a new person would find it easier either.  Rather than being able to mouse over and get details rapidly you'd have to stop on each hero and look.

Grid view is nice, but overall I think the rest of it is a waste of time.

- Added a bit of randomness to the Team Roam group-up location so they don't all hump each other.
- Fixed bug that was causing bots to not consider invulnerable towers as potential TP targets.
- Adjusted how we calculate "too dangerous to TP into", so bots should be less suicidal when TPing in to defend.
- When bots really would like to defend a tower but are lacking the ability to TP there, we greatly increase the "consider going to the side shop to buy a TP" distance.
- Fixed bug where bots would path to the wrong location when farming a neutral camp.

Updates to Dota 2 have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. Fixes include:

4 new heroes and 5 new items (give some items some actual usefulness, like sange, RoB, basic stat items, HUGE changes to courier

- Couriers now give 150 to each enemy player, instead of 300 to the killer.
- Couriers no longer drop items when they die
- Couriers respawn 3 minutes after death, the items they have are inaccesible during that time
- Flying courier no longer has invulnerability shield
- Basic courier is magic immune (like flying courier, most spells did not work on couriers already)

General / Dota2 First Impressions and Updates

If there's anything in particular you want me to look at let me know, grabbed a few off the bat.

I can say right away that I'm really glad this is only closed beta, because the game is SO FAR away from being full release ready. I'll go into more detail on relevant screenshots.

First up, game options, some nice stuff in there, disabling auto attack, double tap for self cast, etc.

News updates

spectate - ill grab some more screens from inside this later

hero select - only the summary tab works, none of the others change the display at all, a great deal of the formatting is clearly still off, as most text doesnt fit properly

shop - kinda assbackwards at the moment, the organization really is kinda messy in terms of only being able to get to the small stuff or the large stuff at a time, and then each having its sub categories of items, hopefully not the final design of it
items can be added to a quick buy listing so that you can just right click to buy them when you have the gold for it
if we go by the options screen you can probably set that to auto buy, but I doubt I ever will
you can also see the item build tree for combination items

leaving a game - currently there is nothing but a slight warning to discourage leavers
I have played 3 games so far, and all of them have had leavers on one or both teams

Voice chat does work, however your keys will botch pretty frequently.
I only ran into the issue once in my 3 games so far, but I started the game, said one line of chat to the team, and I could no longer use skills via keys or type.
This issue is currently only resolved by completely closing the dota 2 game, and relaunching.

Thankfully the rejoin game functionality is there.

What’s Blizzard’s cut?
As with other online auction sites and real-world auction houses, our fee structure will vary by region. However, we plan to collect a nominal fixed transaction fee for each item listed in the auction house. This fee consists of a fixed charge to list the item, which is assessed whether or not the item is successfully sold, and an additional fixed charge that is assessed only if the item is sold. The listing portion of the fee, which helps encourage sensible listing prices and discourage the mass posting of items that are very low quality or would be of little interest to other players, will be waived for a limited number of transactions per account. For players who opt to have the proceeds of their auction house sales go to their third-party payment service account instead of to their account, Blizzard will collect a separate “cash-out” fee. Specific details regarding these fees will be announced at a later date.
